Coastal Conservation                                                                                                                  Coastal Conservation .Today I'm going to talk about Coast Conservation, because it's something I feel good about.  The village where I live, Uswetakeiyawa, is located on the sea border.  Sri Lanka is an island with a coastline of about 1700km.  But today this beach is being destroyed because of man's cruel selfish feelings.  80% of the tourism industry is spread around the coastal region.  The total population is around 4.6 million living along the coast and most of the habitats of the fishing community, especially in Sri Lanka, are located along the coast.  Fisheries 80% of fish production comes from coastal fisheries.  Sri Lanka's coastline is rich in ecological and biodiversity-rich ecological resources.  Ecosystems such as rocky outcrops, sand dunes, mangroves, lagoons and estuaries are of particular importance.  Thus, it is the duty and responsibility of all of us Sri Lankans to maintain the coastline of Sri Lanka, which has such unique economic, social and environmental value, free from contaminants.  But today, as I said above, the coastline is getting polluted due to the selfish actions of the people.  Add to this.  Also, this beautiful beach is polluted due to the pollution dumped on the beach by the people living near the Kelani Garbage Beach and the factory where the Kelani River and Kalu Ganga collect.  In addition, local and foreign tourists and related constructions add some amount of waste to the beach.  In addition, the illegal discharge of pollutants into the seawater is another cause of coastal pollution.  Although the Coast Guard is being carried out by its affiliated government agency, it has a great responsibility of its own to further the success of this national task.  Isn't it because it has been forgotten today that this situation may have arisen because everyone should come together and protect this beautiful beach.  The possible solutions are to stop dumping garbage along the beach and to set up garbage bonds there.  Raising public awareness on the importance of coastal conservation.  To do this, connect newspapers, magazines, television, the Internet.  Protection of ecosystems such as coral reefs, sand dunes, estuaries and lagoons.  Strict punishment should be meted out to those who destroy the coast or we should protect the beautiful coast.  Because in the future, future generations will want to see its beauty.  So let’s protect the beautiful beach
